Age of the city

the local area

The Old Ale and Coffee House is located just off Salisbury High Street, next to the entrance to the Cathedral Close on Crane Street. There has reputedly been a pub here since 1411 witnessing many great events in our great city.
In The Close you can see The Magna Carta, visit Mompesson House, The Rifles Berkshire & Wiltshire Museum, Arundells or the Salisbury Museum.
Nearby in the city itself is The Salisbury Playhouse, the Charter Market in Salisbury Square, Fisherton Mill, Salisbury Arts Centre and Elizabeth Gardens which are right next door.
Near to Salisbury, and easily accessible from the centre, are the magnificent Stonehenge, Salisbury Racecourse, Dark Revolution Brewery, Old Sarum, Bluestone Vineyards as well as the Chalke Valley History Festival.
A whole cornucopia of history, fun and flavours!
